My Gear

Here you will find the cameras I use more or less regularly, mainly I am now using the Rollei 35S and the Rolleiflex, but of course it depends on the subject and the inspiration of the moment. They are all fantastic cameras and suitable for every use, the only limit is creativity

Rolleiflex MX-EVS

The Rolleiflex Automat MX-EVS was produced from 1954 through 1956 and came with a 75mm f/3.5 lens that was either a Carl Zeiss Tessar or a Schneider Xenar taking lens.

Of the features of the Rolleiflex Automat MX-EVS, perhaps the most useful is the system that locks the aperture and shutter speed together so that once one combination is calculated, all other appropriate combinations can be be accessed by turning either the aperture or shutter speed dial.  The only other substantial change from the model that preceded the Rolleiflex Automat MX-EVS was the addition of a switch to override the film advance when re-cocking the shutter.  This allows for intentional double-exposures and is a feature found on all subsequent Rolleiflexes.

Rollei 35S

The Rollei 35 S is a compact 35 mm film camera designed by Heinz Waaske and made by the German camera maker Rollei, in their Singapore factory. It uses a Zeiss-licensed collapsible f2,8/40mm Sonnar lens. From most conventional cameras it differs by having an electronic flash hot shoe on the bottom.

Contax IIIa

Contax IIIa is a 35mm film interchangeable lens rangefinder camera manufactured by Zeiss Ikon AG., Stuttgart, West Germany and produced between March 1951- August 1962.

Contax IIIa is the same camera with Contax IIa with a light meter. Compared to the prewar Contax II and Contax III, the Contax IIa and IIIa used the same lens mount with a completely re-engineered shutter mechanism, new body, and much improved chrome finish.
